Ideagen Smartforms users configuring versions older than 10.1.

Understanding of Windows server is required.

When configuring a new Ideagen Smartforms Server Customer, “Test Datasource” results in the following error:

“Datasource not found.: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {10020200-E260-11CF-AE68-00AA004A34D5} failed due to the following error: 8007007e. “

Problem

The host operating system for Ideagen Smartforms Server may be missing “msvcr71.dll” from the c:\Windows\System32 folder. The file “msvcr71.dll” contains the Microsoft C Runtime Library.

Solution

Find and place “msvcr71.dll” into the c:\Windows\System32 folder and restart IIS.
